The last in a popular series...
For our fifth and final Former Pastors Mass, Father Trusz, our seventh pastor, celebrated Mass on Wednesday, June 29. He led our parish as pastor from 2005 to 2012. Has it already been four years?!! Wow! It seems like not too many moons ago when he graced us with his thoughtful homilies. I remember being mildly shocked the first time I saw him come down from the lectern after the gospel and give the homily in front of the altar (without notes!)... the "Trusz trademark"!
Father Bill spoke of how it is a challenging time nowadays to be a Catholic. He also discussed his involvement as one of 800 "Missionaries of Mercy" commissioned by Pope Francis to "carry the Good News of God’s mercy and forgiveness throughout the world." He graciously did some "major overtime" at the reception remaining to greet every last parishioner who wished to speak with him.
As with all the Former Pastor Masses, many thanks to all who contributed to this event including those in a liturgical ministry, the Knights who stood as honour guard, greeters, and the reception team. Anniversary drawings by the school children were on view in the Hearth Room for everyone's enjoyment.
For your viewing pleasure (and downloading if you like!), photos of the Mass and Reception have been posted to an album. Please note: you may be prompted to "sign in" to comment. You can add photos and comments if you have a Google account, but this is NOT required if you just want to view the photos.
