The Sacrament of Confirmation

In the Sacrament of Confirmation the Bishop lays his hands upon the candidate's head and anoints their forehead with Sacred Chrism. In these actions, we believe that the Holy Spirit descends upon the candidate in a special way to complete the initiation process into the faith and to give the candidate the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit so that they can live out their faith in all of its fullness. With the grace of the Holy Spirit, we send out the confirmed to share the Gospel of Our Lord, just as the Apostles went out after they received the Holy Spirit at the first Pentecost.

This video displayed here explains what happens at Confirmation.
