First Reconciliation & Communion

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation

The Holy Sacrament of Reconciliation through God's immense mercy offers the opportunity for forgiveness of sins and a fresh start. While this Sacrament may begin when a child reaches the age of reason (usually 7 years old), for the Christian, it only grows in its value as we strive to follow Christ as adults and struggle with our fallen humanity.

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion

The Holy Mass is the source and summit of the Christian life. Here, we are fed with the Sacred Word of God in Holy Scripture, which guides us through our lives, and with the Sacred Body and Blood of our Lord, which feeds our souls and brings us into deeper union with God. The first time we receive Holy Communion may happen at the age of 7, after a child has made their First Confession. Like Confession, we need the Holy Mass regularly, even often, as it is a pillar for faith, grace, and hope in our lives. The Mass is the most important event in the whole world, because it makes Christ present in this special way!

" ...he was known to them in the breaking of the bread."

- Luke 24:35
